Making file guide vise jaws for perfect cuts
In this video I'll make a set of file guides using HSS inserts. These will be different than other file guides as these are designed to rest on vise jaws and open with the vise jaws. File guides are commonly used for knife making but I'll mostly use mine for other things. Most of these parts were machined on my benchtop milling machine Precision Matthews PM30-MV

Making a Razor Utility Knife
Переглядів 118 тис.6 місяців тому
In this video I will be metal casting a bronze utility knife that uses razor blades. I started by coming up with a design and 3d modeling it in fusion 360. Then I 3d printed patterns to use to make a sand mold. Once cast in bronze I refined the casting with hand files. Then I drilled and tapped holes for stainless steel screws that hold the razor blade in place. Please consider supporting me on...
Solid bronze skull mask - Casting a metal facemask - 3d Printing to metal casting - Lost PLA
Переглядів 113 тис.7 місяців тому
In this video I will make a really cool skull mask designed by artist Zane Rogers. I started by 3d printing it using a plastic called PLA. Next I coated the 3d print in a special ceramic slurry called Suspendaslurry. After that I placed the shell into a kiln and fired it at 1500° F to turn them into a ceramic. I filled the shell with bronze consisting of 92% copper and 8% tin. Once cool I broke...

Why are you alleging that the magnet falling through the copper tube is displacing gravity, when the fact remains the copper tube is hindering the magnet’s magnetic field.

Hmm! Beautiful axe! I wonder if the ancients used different shapes more conducive to bronze? Possible a thicker blade and higher blade sharp angle. Maybe 20 or 25 degree? Less shaving more chopping. Fine casting and l am learning to salvage imperfections by brazing. Thanks
